Also known as Persian Greyhound, Gazelle Hound
An ancient desert sprinter with a quiet dignity
One of the oldest dog breeds, the Saluki was developed in the Middle East to run down gazelle. Graceful, gentle and reserved, it is calm and quiet indoors but needs regular fast running in a safe enclosed space.

This breed needs about 60 minutes of activity a day. Around 3 sitter-led sessions a week keeps that routine going when work or travel gets in the way.

No, they are generally quiet and calm indoors. They can be vocal on occasion, but noise is rarely a problem.
Only in a securely fenced area. The chase instinct is very strong and a Saluki that spots something moving may not respond to recall.
It is risky. The breed sees small moving animals as prey, so introductions need care and unsupervised contact is not advised.
