A sociable little terrier with drop ears and a big heart
The Norfolk is one of the smallest terriers, bred to bolt foxes and hunt rats in packs. It is cheerful, sturdy and unusually sociable, with a weatherproof wiry coat and a habit of making friends with everyone.

This breed needs about 45 minutes of activity a day. Around 3 sitter-led sessions a week keeps that routine going when work or travel gets in the way.

They are very similar in size and coat. The Norfolk has drop ears, while the Norwich has prick ears.
They are more sociable than many terriers and often live well with dogs and cats when raised together. Small caged animals should still be kept safe.
Very little, but the coat needs regular grooming to remove dead hair. Hand-stripping keeps the texture and colour healthy.
