Also known as King of Terriers, Airedale
The tallest terrier, clever, bold and full of beans
The Airedale is the largest of the terriers, bred for hunting otters and rats along English rivers and later used as a working and messenger dog. It is intelligent, playful and stubborn, and needs plenty of activity plus regular coat stripping.

This breed needs about 90 minutes of activity a day. Around 5 sitter-led sessions a week keeps that routine going when work or travel gets in the way.

Best-matched service
Very little, because the wiry coat holds dead hair until it is stripped or trimmed. That is why regular grooming matters more than vacuuming.
It can be, but it needs an owner who is consistent and has time. Airedales are smart and strong-willed, and they test rules if training is loose.
Around 90 minutes a day, split between walks, play and training. Without it the breed tends to become noisy and destructive indoors.
