A light, agile Sicilian hunter with an easygoing heart
The Cirneco dell'Etna is an ancient Sicilian hound bred to hunt rabbits over rough volcanic ground. It is lean, lively and affectionate with its family, and needs a secure area for running because its hunting instinct is strong.

This breed needs about 60 minutes of activity a day. Around 3 sitter-led sessions a week keeps that routine going when work or travel gets in the way.

It needs around an hour of activity a day, with chances to sprint safely. It is quite settled indoors once it has had a good outing.
Yes, the short coat needs little more than a weekly brush. Shedding is light and there is little doggy odour.
It can be difficult, since it is a rabbit hunter by nature. Growing up with a cat helps, but small animals outdoors should always be treated with caution.
